Boracite (WIP)
Bio
A crafty fellow who sleeps for the better part of the year and works when no one else is awake. On account of that, they aren't particularly well-beloved like most of the other seniors are, but they aren't necessarily disdained either. Just a perfectly average guy who folks don't see often. They can always see the bright side of a situation, or at least the funnier side of it. They were born without legs and have always had a hard time in finding and keeping replacement pairs. They've lost legs in a variety of colorful ways, some examples including being crushed by ice floes, shot off and stolen, exploding, eaten by snails, dissolved, and that's only if they actually take to their body in the first place. When they can't work on account of not having legs, they like to help out with repairs or administrative work. To the rest of their friends back home they're assumed to have been kidnapped and brought to the moon, but instead they just ended up on a volcanic island in the middle of nowhere.
Appearance
Boracite is about 5 feet tall and of a thin build. On the original island they don't powder their legs, and on the volcanic one they don't powder anything except for their face. They have a bobbed haircut with bangs. They wear black boots and black gloves, and a white outfit.
Composition
Boracite is made primarily of... boracite... excepting their legs, which have historically been made of all sorts of different materials over the years. They prefer to use metals for legs but have also used other materials like corundum or quartz. The microbes in the lower half of their body are weakened from arsenic poisoning.
Abilities
They're piezoelectric and pyroelectric, which is to say their body develops a voltage when they're under stress or heated. They can discharge this voltage, but can't control when this happens.

Background
Boracite was born one winter in a mineral-deficient patch of rock. Because of this, they hadn't developed legs. They were raised by the current icebreaker at the time who taught them all of their basic knowledge. They enjoyed reading books in their youth, as they hadn't much else to do. After a few years with no suitable material showing up, the icebreaker decided to fashion a pair using their hair and some other materials laying around, which worked. Boracite was eager to take up winter duty alongside them for some time, until they became paralyzed out on the ice and had to give up their legs upon discovering that they were poisoning their body. So, they returned to waiting for someone to find some more material to use, and this was the routine for Boracite for many many years.

Notes: Their clothes are dyed with algae. Even though it's mostly cloudy in winter, light exposure causes them to have to re-dye it every year. Algae pigments aren't very lightfast.
