Chalcanthite (WIP)
Bio
A quirk of gems on the original island is that they don't use minerals for tools or any other technology but opt for glass and plant products instead. The gems on the volcanic island ignore that and use minerals for all sorts of things, and Chalcanthite is a consequence of this. No one suspected that these farmed crystals were sentient until they escaped, and now they're out for vengeance on being used for so many years. They're toxic and leave a wake of destruction wherever they go, and they're trying to inflict the suffering they endured onto whoever they can. They wish their life could've been normal.
Appearance
Chalcanthite is about average height and build, but they're unpolished. They have a huge "cape" which starts from their hair and fuses with their arms and back, giving them a distinct "draped" silhouette. Their hair has all sorts of textures from crystalline to fibrous to goopy. They have three eye sockets, only one of which has an eye in it.
Composition
Chalcanthite is made entirely of copper sulfate. They're somewhat hydrated so parts of their body are leaky and gooey. One of their eyes is Chalcopyrite's.
Abilities
They're water soluble, so they'll dissolve into a bright blue puddle if gotten too wet. They're highly toxic. They also burn bright green when set on fire.

Background
The medic gem was studying metal salt properties and found that copper sulfate burns green, so they began growing and harvesting it for the purpose of burning crystals in bonfire parties for cool looking fire. Over the course of many years of harvesting and regrowing, these crystals either developed inclusions on their own or obtained them from someone else. Either way, they became self-aware. Over time their growing pool stopped receiving maintenance, and as the salt-rich water crystallized, they grew enough to escape. The other gems are currently trying to keep them contained in a volcanic crater because of their toxicity that has poisoned several gems and killed a decent portion of sealife around the island.
